Mozart’s birthplace
The house where Wolfgang Amadé Mozart was born on 27 January 1756 is now one of the most visited museums in the world. Nowhere else can the man Wolfgang Amadé Mozart and his music be experienced as vividly as in the house where he was born. For a whole 26 years, from 1747 onwards, the family lived in a flat on the third floor. Mozart spent his childhood and youth here with his parents Leopold and Anna Maria and his sister ‘Nannerl’. In 1773, the family moved to the Mozart residence on Makartplatz on the opposite side of the Salzach.

Mozart residence
In 1773, after their third trip to Vienna, the Mozart family moved into the house on Markatplatz. The house in Getreidegasse where Mozart was born had become too small for social receptions. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived in this house until he moved to Vienna in 1781. His mother died in 1778 and his sister Nannerl married in St. Gilgen in 1784. His father remained in the house alone – from 1785 with his grandson Leopold Alois Pantaleon, who was entrusted to his care.

DomQuartier Salzburg
The DomQuartier Salzburg offers a unique tour through the baroque heart of Salzburg. For the first time in 200 years, the Residence and Cathedral area – including the Benedictine monastery of St Peter – can once again be experienced in a coherent tour. With the opening of the DomQuartier in 2014, an internationally unique museum has been created. The countless windows in the rooms and corridors of the DomQuartier offer fascinating views of Salzburg’s old town.
